In 2002, Deborah saw a need for a more simplified belly dance class for beginners and formulated a series of technique focused lessons to prepare dancers for more advanced classes. The class, Belly Dance 101, is still very popular for the student who requires more explanation and attention to detail. Deborah has also trained several private students in technique and for 'special occasion' dancing. She trained pageant contestant Cheyanne Karimi, and in 2004, Cheyanne became Miss Teen Sapulpa with a stunning original choreography.

Also a serviceable drummer, Deborah began Middle Eastern Drumming with Donna Crawford five years ago, and now teaches drumming for beginning drummers and dancers.

Deborah's credentials include performing professionally for the Shadia Dahlal Dance Conservatory as a member of the Purple Roses of Cairo, and the studio band Khafakhan. She's performed professionally as a soloist and in group productions at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Deborah is a skilled performer with many 'belly dance accessories' including zills (finger cymbals), veil, sword, wings of Isis, cane, tambourine and candles.
